Hello everyone. We just had our first successful tournament last month, and let us congratulate again Sky for winning. This month is going to be harder and more professional. May's theme is pac-man. The grading rubric has been advanced, and I have a new rule. For every three judges, one can enter.
The rubric is as follows:
theme-x/10 (Does it follow the basic principles of pac-man games.)
originality- x/10 (Is this a new pac-man game, or is it the same as the others.)
creativity- x/10 (Do they use their elements in a refreshing, nice way.)
game-play- x/10 (Is the game fun, have barely any bugs, and make you want to play it.
graphics- x/10 (Only grade graphics the game creator made himself)
music/sound- x/5 (Did they pick sound and music that go along with the game's game-play and pace.)
overall- x/20 (How in general, do you feel the game was.)
Total Score- x/75 points (Add up the above elements to get total score.)
Bonus- power-ups- x/10 (Does the game have original, new boosts for the player.)
As mentioned in last tournament, bonus is just a tie-breaker so it doesn't add with total score. That means if player has 75 points and ten bonus points, he does not have 85 points, if two people have same total score, use bonus to break tie, and if there is still a tie, it is up to the master judge to decide how tie will be called.
You may submit already made games or games you make during the tournament's time. The deadline is the 23rd, no exceptions. Judge week will be 24th- 30th, and the May Awards is on the 31st. Do not notify winner this time before May Awards.
All people wanting to be judges, please pm me that you would like to become a judge.
Get started, and GOOD LUCK!
