Opinions wanted: key remapping.

Opinions wanted: key remapping.

A standard key-remapping system is to click on a button with the mouse, then press the key you want. I know how to do this. However, in my current project, the game is controlled entirely by keys. My question is this: how should the remapping be controlled? Should I
  1. Use the mouse just in this one screen,
  2. Use the default configuration to set keys,
  3. Use the previous set keys (select assign when finished), or
  4. Use the currently set keys? (could get confusing)

What do you think?

Right now (10/14/2009) I'm working on some C++ projects, but I might be able to help if you have some Game Editor questions. :)

I think the mouse is your best bet, it should at least make the code a bit simpler as you want have to juggle different key configs
