Editor freezes at add animation

Whenever I go to load up an animation I click the button then the cursor blinks and the browser never comes up.
after awhile of trying it will bring you to a new window and when you switch back the tip box is open, the program is frozen and you have to use windows task manager to get out!

If you have had the same thing happen to you then could you please tell me how to resolve this?

Are you using windows vista, I have spotted whit my friends some problems at are similar.

Vitsa is a possible cause (as noted), but this can occur in XP as well. My first month using GE taught me to always save my work prior to "adding an animation" or "selecting a sound file"... It seems anytime I have Lightwave & Photoshop & web browser & Windows Explorer & GE all open together, I have this problem anytime GE has to open it's file selection browser... not sure if it's a memory problem or what... the weird thing is, after I close GE with the Task Manager and re-start it, it typically works (even though all the other programs are still open and running)...
So try closing all your extra crap thats open, and always save your progress first.
