About the future of Game Editor.

Postby j2graves » Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:09 pm

Makslane, I understand that GE is currently an open source program, right? That is understandable, but considering the future addition of an iPhone port and possible internet capability, I think that the future versions of GE will be too valuable to be open source. I think it would be safer if the next version of GE is not open source. Considering how Game Editor is not competing well against most other game development software, your iPhone port will be a way of catching up to competition. However, if the source code is available to everyone, your rivals may steal it in some way. I personally think that the next version of GE should not be open source. Does anyone agree?
No games to my name...

I don't agree. While Game Editor is Open Source (GPL) if any rivals want to steal it they had to make their software GPL too.

We can't close an open source software :-)
Game Editor is an open source game creator software that's wants to pay it's developers to keep evolving.
If you like Game Editor, make a review!
