It is easy to draw a picture or write a letter but it is hard to write music, ( I Already tried it before ).
so you need to learn to do music! like how does DST do it? does he write music itself (or maybe his a natural  )
so many people do great music here and Ive been wondering what there methods are.

I use Open ModPlugTracker.
It's easy to know if a song was made with FL Studio :P

True (Waits for java uploader to get done so it doesn't interrupt typing and be annoying), however you can always add custom sounds :D

Just having a good software does not mean you can compose!
You need to know how to use software!
i did this for one of my games but no harmony in it
........... Even Rough Music Needs Harmony to be listenable!

Try purchasing a book on theory. I'm sure you can find one at a bookstore or online. Once you have a theory book, study it as much as possible and then practice writing simple songs to test out what you have learned. Hope that was useful

By the way, I use LMMS (linux multi-media studio) it can run on linux as well as windows :P

there are many different ways things can be accomplished. What works for some doesn't work for others, and vice versa. Try different methods and see what works for you - it's in finding your particular methods and inspirations that you will find your particular style of sound.
