Sun Glare

Postby Game A Gogo » Sat Dec 08, 2007 1:00 am

Just a quick demo I made, probably will be useless, but meh, at least I have done something, right?

Anyway, just scroll the mouse around to move the view, and if the Sun goes near the center, well, there is a white flash thingy, like if you where really looking in the sun or something, well close to it at least.

Try making a game (a challenge for ya!) to make a city destroying game. Where your player would be the monster, and you could destroy the buildings and eat people!
I'm not good at coming up with signatures...

That's very cool! Can I ask which program you are using to include transparency as a property in your graphic files? I'm intersested since I am always on the search to create better graphic effects. I'm a master of paint but unfortunately paint does not use alpha...

Anyway, I appreciate in advance!

To make the BG, I used truespace 3.2, it's free, google it.
And for the rest, I used Icon Lover, it's not free, but it has a trial of 30-days http://www.aha-soft.com

That's cool Gogo! If you want, you can try simulating different weather conditions. For example rain, clouds, storm, wind etc. I tried to do some rain and snow effects in 2006 for Diana Kennedy. (You still remember Diana Gogo?) :)

By the way, this is off topic, but you get that kind of sun glares only when you watch the sun through a lens. (For example camera) But it doesn't matter because the effect is used in many movies so much that it looks realistic for many of us. :)
I can't die, I already tried

Yes, I remember Diana.
And I can do several weather effects, I should upload something I made, it was the sun going up and there was fog, then some clouds of rain came in etc...

And, yes I know that it produced with lens, but it gives a cool effect, and your screen can be like one, in some ways... but the intention is there =P
