Character help

I'm new to this program but how do i go about making a new character gif as all there is are the cave man and spaceship.

any help about what programs i should use or websites would be greatful

Any image editors work! For starting up MS Paint will be a perfect tool. As you probably have windows, you should have it

I use Icon Lover from http://www.aha-soft.com/ , you can download it but as a trial and might need some get-used-to.

There is also GIMP, personally I don't use it because I'm more of a pixel artist but it's still a very powerful program. It's directly comparable to Photoshop! http://www.gimp.org/
