Explosion quality

I need your suggestions about explosions. I may design an explosion in another program and it is very realistic. But the problem is , when I transfer it to the background in GE, the transparency causes the explosion to lose depth. I tried to design the explosion using the background in GE, it looked better, but this time the animation size grew too much. Is there a smart way that preserves the quality of explosion while keeping the file size small ?

Save the images as png32, so, Game Editor can see the transparency information in the images (like antialias).

Yeah, play my game Bubble Buster Advanced - the explosions look so cool using PNG format.
