Makslane, I am interested in making a shell program with GE to run other executables.

Is such functionality in your list?

Hard to believe, I tried 3 times to post a reply... here is attempt 4!

A shell is an application that covers/changes or enhances/limits the users ability to manipulate the computer. The windows desktop is one example.

In the dos days, they were used by schools to keep students away from stuff like hard drive formats, and whatnot. Rather than being solely a limiting factor, some added clever features, such as mouse use with the early versions of MSDOS. Windows 1.0 and 2.0 were examples of course. So was windows 3.0.

Another related product is the emulators, such as MAME, which allow windows to interpret old ROM images, or applications from other operating systems. That isnt what I want to do though.

Imagine a grid of nine filled actors with a graphic over each. Clicking any one would cause the GE program to run a different (non GE)program. thats what I want.
