I guess all you can do is to start working on something new.
But I have one question.. did you use that "Safely remove device" -thing Windows has?
Quite many people don't use it, as the files usually stay unharmed even if you just take the usb drive from the computer.
I have always used it, but once I took the drive from the computer without using it, and the files went corrupted.
So I strongly recommend everyone to use it, because not using it sets your files to a danger every time you remove the drive from your computer.
And it's just three clicks, so I guess everyone has time for that
