Hi Everybody!

As some of you know I'm waist deep in building our first commercial game for the gp2x. I'm really excited about the progress so far, so I wanted to give you all a sneak peek. For those of you without GP2X's (unfortunate people!) I'm posting a windows exe so you can see the demo.

You can't do anything but watch it and exit, but the animation is pretty nifty, and works pretty good on the gp2x. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Here's a couple of gp2x screen shot

Here's the gp2x version.
hit any button to exit. Note the animations are leaving some garbage artifacts as they fly around. This doesn't seem to happen in the pC version, so I'm guessing it's a bug in the export code. Also sometimes the background music doesn't play.

Any other gp2x people seeing these kinds of things in their games?

you can't play it yet. It's just something to look at right now, but I hoope to have a playable demo in a week or so. Any button on the gp2x quits it.

Here's a new demo where you can fly around and blast the oids.

Keys
left and right arrows turn
up arrow thrusts
down arrow hyperspaces
space bar shoots.

Ignore the numbers, they are telling me the states of certain variables. The red number at the top of the game window is counting the number of tiny oids destroyed so far. There are 24 of them total, so when the counter hits 24 you start a new level.

When you get destroyed a new ship enters the oidzone in the lower right corner.

There's no enemies yet. They should go in in the next couple of days.
Let me know what you think.

thanx

Here's the latest PC version zip file. It's coming along pretty well. This one has the enemy saucers in it. They release "swarm mines" every once in awhile.

left right turn
up thrusts
down hyperspaces
space fires.
