Well I have been lurking here the past week. I have been making games in DBP 3 years and Torque 6 months now. Recently it has gotten tedious and has just not been fun anymore.
I stumbled across GE while looking for a new engine. I downloaded it and I must say this is great. Ive tried Game Maker, Torque Game Builder and plenty other 2d engines.
I have plenty of coding experience bit I really dont care for C programming.
In the past week I have made loads of headway turnning one of my 3d games to 2d in GE and most of all its been FUN.
The GE interface just feels right Ive been up and coding since day 1. It didnt take long to get my head wrapped around the way the interface and actions work. Documentation is great.
Every time I hit a snag I hit the MB and wala Im past it and moving on. Menus, paths, targeting etc...
There were a few improvements that I would have liked and I saw those in the post showing the new version(object tree + networking). So.. I will be purchasing GE soon.
Thanks for making it fun again!
