I kinda made this out of random and thought it worthy of showing you all as i havent done anything in a really long time :D its more of an abstract game where there isnt much to explain. I really need music and more ideas for this to be fun, but its quite inspiring i beleive.

~ full screen 640X480 incase anyone dispises full screen
~ Left and right change the range (displayed in top-left corner)
~ left mouse
~ right mouse
~ if it lags spacebar will reset it
~ it really shouldnt lag cuz i remade the engine so it does'nt (if that makes sense?)

If anyone has any ideas or music to go along id be glad to update this. im thinking at the moment to see what can be done to optomize this and make it more enjoyable. :)

Dang it, I just posted a huge reply to this topic, but the forum ate it and I didn't have it saved. Anyway... Here is some music you can (legally) use in your game that I thought fit well:

http://ocrmirror.iiens.net/files/music/ ... _ReMix.mp3

some ideas for concepts:

change the attract and repel buttons to the left and right mouse buttons. make no button pushed = no effect on the stars

make a level where the player has a limited amount of clicking time and has to move stars from one point to another

have the player make a certain formation with stars--would require a fairly complicated formation recognition system

enemies(moving black holes?) that eat your stars, the player has to avoid them on the way to a location. the right clicking could serve a useful purpose by spreading out your stars so the enemies could only eat a few of them. I would make the enemies a little bit faster than the stars.

It's a pretty demo, and I think you could expand it in many different directions. If you decide to abandon it I would love to play around with the source files. I like it!

Thanx for that you both. I really like that music btw! We'll have to see what i end up adding. I guess Mr. J was right, its more of a sim than a game. So i'm not sure about adding enemies or levels. We will definately see though. Maybe if i clean the code i can post the source. :)

Well i updated it alittle but i dont want to upload it due to the music making the file 5.6MB. Is there anyother music i could use :D i dont want people with slow connections to be afraid to download this!

EDIT:
Does the random color ruin the effect of the game?
