Does any one use The Construct Game Maker Classic? Its an open source game creator for windows...

I tried construct but I found it a bit confusing.

Yeah it can be confusing but You don't have to know any programming or scripting to make games or applications with it.

but not knowing code is lame, if you learn GE code then it teaches you the fundamentals, making games using drag and drop wont get you anywhere!

That's true but Construct has features that GE doesn't

I've seen some pretty commercial quality games created with Construct. And Construct is open source also and has a good interface. I use both GE and Construct and construct can be extending with scripting also. I prefer to use them both for game development. Though I'm on the 1.5 of GE Development team and am working on the new interface (wxGe)

Hi, Yes I'm on the 1.5 Team and I am working on the new interface. Fixing The WxGameEditor.exe Crash Bugs and am implementing more features. This is going to take a while before the new UI is finished.

I think I might have a new hero now

Actually that's really not so exact. The fact that GE has programming and allows you to cook up your own C code and wrap it in makes that point completely moot. Because if you need a feature you can really just invent it, making the feature set really limitless. Plus the multi platform support you'll appreciate when and if you actually start selling something.
