In my upcoming game, I am in a real bind, because the main player actor has a jumping problem.
When you hit the SPACE bar to jump, sure, the actor jumps...but when in the air, you can keep
hitting SPACE, causing the actor to jump in midair! HELP ME!

The reason for this is simple: you told the actor to set its velocity when you press space. You never told it to only do it if it was on the ground. This question has been asked about 300 times before. Use the search box at the top of the page, and you should find at least one good solution.
