I'm not only new to ge but also to using a forum In general...

So can some1 tell me how I can check whose online?
also wat double posting is?

welcome to ge!
to check who's online, go to the index page and look at the bottom of the screen.
double posting is when you post once in a topic and then post again
as for the basic forums,
1. when you encounter a problem in ge, post exactly what the problem is in the support section.
2. when you want to tell about the game you are creating, post in the game development section.
3. for random ge related talking, post in the general section.
4. if there is a feature you thing ge should have, post in the feature request section.
5. when you are more experienced in ge and have a complex code you wish to crack or share, post in advanced topics.
6. and finally if you want to share some game objects or music, post in game art.

basic knowledge:
1. the score under a user's avatar is score they've been given by other members. when a member helps you, click on the little + to increase their score. whoever gets 30 points will get a free full version and a free full year's worth of updates.
2. there is a chat at the upper right of the screen where you can chat with members about ge.

Is this true ? if so, .. is there some guidelines on the rules for giving points etc ??

WOW! I never heard about that one!!! : ) But then I have a free full version. : ) So my only reward is . . . . the happiness of helping. : ) Rare as that is since I'm still a n-e-w-b-i-e (relatively). : )
