Sorry to hear that knucklecrunch! :/

Once you are becoming advanced into game editor, there is no tutorials, you have to ask. I mean what if you urgently need it, YOU HAVE TO ASK!

But when I first started Game Editor I to sometimes felt like leaving but... I still wanted to make video games but you know
There really is nothing like GE  . just begin to try to make a epic game and ask for help when you run into trouble trust me :) Just try not to make "duplicate topics and Just watch your wording and try not to seem like your shouting or mad like I did in some of my earlier posts .

if I never asked for help I would be nowhere! Trust me it is fine if you ask for help.
Oh! And also search for topics bringing out similar problems to what you have.

I am moving on to construct 2 (even though theres not alot of code needed)

Oh! I see.. You want a more advanced program, sorry I just misread.
But why do you want to make ultra HD games for the Wii U? Pixel art and so on are still prased, and IOS is still a big platform, But I guess GE can't really live up to what 2080 people want to see...
Good Luck... :) :(

I'm sorry to hear you're leaving.

But I have a word to say about the reasons for why you are leaving..

knucklecrunchgames wrote:Very limited.
The program is a bit old fashioned and doesn't have all the new exports, plugins, ect

Game Editor is nowhere near limited. What you can do with Game Editor depends solely on the user himself, if one is just willing to take some time to learn how the program works,
it can do pretty much everything you want as long as we're speaking about 2D. And when 1.5 comes out, GE will be capable of even more things.

I do agree with you in that Game Editor might seem kinda old fashioned, and it is true that it doesn't yet have all the exports that are important for every game making tools today.
But that is because the development got stopped and the situation will eventually be fixed, as the development is going forwards again.

There is tutorials, there is a lot of tutorials and there is a lot people willing to help.
Most of the problems one can solve just by searching around the forums.
But if that doesn't work, you can always ask. Skydereign has answered pretty much every question you have asked,
and asking isn't something you should be ashamed of.
People here are willing to help you learn, it only depends on if you're willing to learn or not.

I wish you'd stay here, but I can't force you of course.
Good luck!

@gameEditor When maks and the others starts to work on you again, I will come back to you :) But for now, you haven't got the features I need :( Thanks so much for bringing me into the world of coding. It was thanks to you I am better on computers :D

MrJolteon still uses GE... Not as frequent as before but when we are working on FreeCity it's needed. :P

My story: At the beggining I was working with GE and GM too.
I found GM easier to do simple stuff.
After a little bit of time I realized that simple commands aren't enough for good games and with coding in GE I can customize the game and add functions etc.
I stayed at GE because it's coding is simple and you can do amazing stuff with it.

A comments to the tutorial parts: If you reach a higher level of programming you don't really need tutorials. You think in algorithms :P

The only problem is that you haven't showed us really your "advanced" knowledge in GE, and perhaps it is not the features, but the understanding of the features.

No it is the features, I need:

html5 export-construct 2 has is
Windows 8 app export-construct 2 has it

alot more that construct 2 has.

I am not trying to bring ge down, but it just isn't for me for now

I know about the price, yes it is very high, but I have made a game with ge that I will soon sell and I hope to make a little cash.

So you bought the "Personal Edition" for $80,- ?
Given, your game is such mass appealing enough, then you will reach the $5000,- limit
very fast.
Or did you even buy the "Business Edition", and you can sell, how much you can ?

And you're planning, to port your GE game to Construct 2 ?
