Could it be a graphics card problem (too little memory or something similar)?
When I load GE and want to change the grid color, it freezes on me. But if I leave the grid color alone, I'm fine. I have a decent graphics card but not a high, high power one. This never happened to me with the older versions, I just bought the new one.

No, it's not fire-wall, or my graphics card (its a new computer). GE starts the buy now thing and makes me wait for four seconds, but when I click ok, it doesnt start. The only thing that I can think of is that there is a corrupted file somewhere, but I have unistalled it and reinstalled it completely, so that wouldnt make any sense.

I dont think it has anything to do with GE, there must be something wrong with my computer.

Gogo, I think what happened with your friend was a unlucky exeption.
I asked my dad about it and he said that it would be no problem at all removing vista and installing xp.
his collegues at work did it several times, no problem at all.
So, I'm not going to worry about that
I'm gonna get a vista laptop and install XP on it.

have u guys seen them wide screen laptops? they r big, but them huge screens r amazing! also it has them calculator keys that most laptops don't have. I'm gonna get me one of them

im not exactly sure, i was using the computer like i normally do, playing games. and then i was done and turned off the computer then the next morning i turned it on and it said it cant find windows vista on the computer! my freind fixed it, but it keeps doing this all the time exept after that it would just turn off, i took it to my geeky uncle and he said there might be something wrong with the hard drive.... he said basicly its brain dead.
