I know. I talked to makslane a while back about registering an irc channel for gE, but he turned it down. If joining the .net site's chatroom isn't worth the benefit, naturally you wouldn't join it. And if it is a matter of principle for anyone not much we can do. The .net chat only gets a few people occasionally anyway.

I would highly recommend that there be an IRC channel as it would be much better suited then a web chat that no-one uses.

Even though I am also on freenode, I am there as well now. I think it should have been on freenode as it would attract more skilled developers as well as a more mature crowd then esper.net which has a lot of children and rpgmaker like people.

would be nice if we could get a link to the discord chat on the top of the forum, like where the old chat was
should be possible to get it to show the number of online users with some HTML wizardry
