hello there,
My name is henry, i am 14 and I have been using game editor for little over a day. I have begun a simple game about a robot suit which me and my friend built from cardboard boxes. The objective is to get from his house to mine down the streets and past houses.

I have got the controls right, the robot can walk, jump and stop. The problem is that when you press jump once it is fine but if you press it more than once before you land, he just jumps from that point in the air so you can just fly if you press it enough times. also when the robot walks, the sequence of him walking only plays once and then he just stands still and slides alond the floor. I have watched all the tutorials but none of them have helped.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A SOLUTION??!?!?!?!?

There are two ways I know to stop the "flying" jump.

Both methods are for determining if your character "is jumping" so you can disable new jumps.

1 - if yvelocity == 0 then you can assume you are on the ground. (The problem with this though is that you can still jump at the very peak of your current jump.)

2 - check the y distance between you and the platform you are on. If it is outside a range you are jumping.

I have also had trouble with this sort of thing. I will be interested to see your final solution. :)

Good luck!
