Hi I was just wondering something about the app publishing fee thing...
If I pay the $25 to get my dat made into an ipa do I still need to get the sdl license, also would I have to pay royalties on money made from the game?

Its unclear to me also , but I usaully just do it myself. Also you dont need to make an ipa file , apple wants the app file and they will convert it to ipa file. Its best to PM akr as he isnt always online but he does answer his PM's. Sorry I couldnt help you more.

Yes, you still have to buy a SDL license seperately from galaxygameworks.com.

You do still need an SDL license, but if you have a GE license you get a 75% reduction in the cost of your SDL license (Akr plz confirm?). I emailed the SDL people earlier today about getting a license because Firetop Adventure is about ready for me to submit, but haven't heard back yet.
Also, once you have your GE and SDL licenses it'll only be Apple that take a chunk out of your takings. But you do need to get a new SDL license for every game you publish commercially.

The people libSDL have been back in touch to say that the cost for a licensed GE user is (at the moment) $25 per title. That's a 75% discount on the normal price! From what they say they should somehow get a notification of my GE license purchase automatically and I need to provide them with some kind of proof as well (probably my license Profile ID number) before filling out the license agreement and sending it back to them.

Hi every one.
I am also ready to send to apple. What do I need to do to get a ipa. file. I thought that xcode would do it for me. All I get is a app. file. What do I need to do?
First time doing this so please tell me step by step. Thank you.

Do u have a apple machine? Thats the first question. I understand that your app is running in geplayer which is also very important.

I'm not on a Mac right now, but I seem to remember what I did was as follows:
1. built the game
2. created a folder called 'payload' in the same directory as your build
3. copy your new app in to the new payload directory
4. right click the payload folder and create a new archive
5. rename the resulting archived file from .zip to .ipa (you can skip this step - both file extentions are okay (ta Sonic for that tip))
6. Submit the payload.ipa/zip file
Hope that helps

you dont have to rename the ZIP to IPA. just submit the ZIP archive.
