I tried setting the Game Setting to mono but it did not make a difference. Unfortunately I do not have stereo versions of the music files at the moment but have requested them from the music artist. Will post again when I have received the files.

I don't know about a webpage and I'll have to ask him if I can give you his email address. Will get back to you on that one.

The stereo ogg files did not make a difference, they too seem to have the same problem. On the Pocket PC's they play fine however so for now I'll leave it as is. Thanks for the help everyone. I now have a problem with sound volume but I'll start a new thread for that.

Maybe could be a sound card problem?
Maybe you could send an exe to me or someone else so their could try it out?
Or maybe you could test it on another computer yourself.

Thanks Game A Gogo, I sent the exe to some people to be tested and will see what they say.
I tried some of the demos here on the forums and all of them sound fine, so I think there's something not right with our ogg files. We'll be converting them in a different program to see if that makes a difference.

I have a problem with Ogg files too, they make a lot of noise. This has made me use midi files for my games, but I have a couple projects that I'd really, really want to use other music for...
The files play fine elsewhere, just not in GE. Does anyone know what might cause this, and if the program used to convert the mp3's to Ogg's have anything to say?

To me it looks like the faster the device, the better the ogg file plays.
On my laptop it makes some noise, but not nearly as much as on an old Pocket PC. I've got a newer Pocket PC that plays it rather well and on a fast desktop pc it seems to play perfectly.
It's just a guess though.

For me, it makes noise on both my laptop and my other computer. All files play well in the preview but starts sounding weird in game mode. I've tried other ogg files I downloaded elsewhere to see if there would be any change, but still, lots of noise...
Anyone found any solution to this, other than simply stop using oggs?

perhaps the compression module is not supported by GE?

I have the same problem with all my oggs on regular windows....at 44100 you get tiny little clicks of white noise....i've just been changing the hz to 22500 but the sound quality is so much poorer....even with only one actor on stage it still does this....on 3 different os's with three different soundcards....
They are standard 128k oggs nothing special. Wav files do it too.
