Well, the blue icons could serve for unread subforums and the desaturated (silver ones) for read ones. So we wouldn't need two icons beside each other. Check my first post.

That can't be done given the default settings of this forum type. We'd have to find a plugin to do that, and from a cursory search I haven't found anything promising.

Just out of curiosity. Will all of the forum's icons be revamped, or was this strictly for the ones on the main page?

Eventually all of them. That means we need the topic icons as well. The biggest two that we need now are a topic icon and a my topic icon.
