I wish more entered, but it is nice to have what we have, btw, when you make the game, it must stay true to original plans, graphics, and script, but add a flavor of you in it.

Oh yeah, since you are a judge, I should send you the original geds, so you can compare the old vs the new.

Wow, I haven't been up to date in a tournament... Had some stuff going on. Sorry about that... I know I won't make it, so I'll just be a judge! I can't wait to judge these games! Swapping games... Really interesting...

So we should modify the game without changing the graphics, the original plans (what do you mean with that :?: ) and the script.
... Anyway, for not changing the graphics it is already too late.

What I am trying to say is you should keep the draft, just make sure we know the final copy came from you, but at the same time, stays true to the draft. You can change the graphics for instance, in the fact that you can perfect a certain graphic, it just still has to be stay true to it, of course you can finish ideas that they themselves did not complete, such as the next enemies afterwards you can create from scratch, new power-ups, filler for the story, or the story itself if nothing is done about it, etc.

The deadline is today (the 21st), at midnight I presume.
Should the modified game be sent by PM to NightOfHorror?

Today is the 20th, technically, the deadline is 3:00 pm on the 22nd, central USA time. It is 9:21 pm, the 20th where I am, so you can decide how much time you have based on that.

So, do I become judge? From what I heard, these games might be worth waiting for.
P.S: Having exams, so I'll be quite inactive, unless I DO become judge, which I love doing. xD

It was already past midnight for me when I wrote my previous post.
Anyway, I've sent you the second entry by PM.

The more judges, the merrier :D

How about getting a critical review from MrJolteon?

Hm, NoH didn't reply yet, and the deadline is about 6 hours left... I only have time to judge the game between tomorrow until Saturday, next Monday and Wednesday. Pretty limited time. xP

Second: Jolt SHOULD be judge, great idea Hares. xD

Yep :D

The firs game I made is Magma Escape.
Windows version: https://app.box.com/s/tts2xek5p6tvpwaqh1bs
Linux version: https://app.box.com/s/6rsqgsw4zt1r5cejqz3n

For the second game I had to continue working on CrackedPOt's Ludum Dare game called Lavarena.

It is a game he made in 48 houres  - respect for that!

Here is my version of his game:
Windows version: https://app.box.com/s/xtod69ivshkwnf8vu1rl
Linux version: https://app.box.com/s/6bxp3g7uyuc3fdmyaog6

For neither of the two games I added audio - so it's normal if you don't hear anything ...

Hope you enjoy the games :)

game titles have slightly different outlines because Paint.NET was acting up today so I had to do the outlines manually

  • Finally some original and good graphics.
Image
Image
  • Simple and smooth controls.
  • I like that altitude bar on the side.
Image
Image
  • Some of the graphics don't fit together very well.
Image
  • There is none.
Image
  • It's WAY TOO EASY. Where's the challenge??
  • It would be better if the player was fixed to the grid instead of being able to move freely.
  • You can actually move outside of the game area, effectively preventing death.
  • You can collect the gold nugget on the side of the screen that way.

ImageImageImageImageImage 1.5/5 - not saying it's a pile of worthless crap, but there is definitely room for improvement here
