Game Maker sprite strip idea

I'm sure most of you know about Game Maker's sprite strip :P

Anywho, I would love for this technology to be inside Game Editor :D

It saved me bundles of hours cutting and pasting :)

It works like this.

Sprites:

If you want 4 -> and down frames then it looks like this

(Each letter represents a sprite and without having to cut and paste in an image editor)
[a] [b] [c] [d]
[a] [b] [c] [d]

There were horizontal and vertical frame spacing, vertical and horizontal pixel spacing, vertical and horizontal offsets, x and y coordinates specifically but it had just that.

I think if you implemented that and:

Individual sprite/box spacing (where you can alter each box to capture a sprite in with values), grid snapping based on what is mentioned above then I believe you would have a lot more happy people :)

Who like this idea? :D

Note:

Download "Game Maker", the new version, and look at creating a sprite.
You can define a sprite strip, single image or background.
Game Editor has a background option and tiling plus spriting, but I think this idea would improve speed issues :)
(user based, not computer processing)

Edit update:

I recently found out Game Maker has an export function, so I can use Game Maker to easily manage my sprites and export them as a bump without the resource hogging :)
That and I can use Game Editor to get the .bmp sheet I cut out :D

Its a work-around to it, but I believe if this was also implemented into Game Editor, it would save countless hours to thousands of users :D
