Major Issue Regarding Consistent Pausing

I am testing applications on the Pocket PC. I have noticed that the application will pause for a quarter of a second every half a second, but only after you have kept the application running for a minute or so. Initially, it runs smooth without any pauses, but then after time it will start to pause every half a second. It doesn't really slow down the performance, but you can definetely tell that it pauses for about a quarter second. The problem does not go away until you have quit and restarted the application. Then, after you wait a minute--the same thing will happen.
I have tried just about everything to fix this bug and there is no solution. I have several applications and they all suffer they same problem.
Has anyone else experienced this issue/can anyone resolve it? If not, I hope there is a patch or something that can eventually resolve it in future versions.
I am currently using v1.3.6. If the version is the issue, please let me know. If/when I update and it still does not work, I will continue to post this message until I have resolved the matter.
I would like to add that it does not only pause on the Pocket PC, but it also pauses on the desktop as well. I have a 2.4 GHz althon 64 processor and a 8500x Radeon gfx card so I don't think it's my computer. Something else is definetely wrong.

I have not heard of such an issue, I would recommend using another Pocket-PC to verify that it's not a problem with your hardware or drivers rather then GE, but then again since I don't use a Pocket-PC, I don't really pay much attention to problems people have posted regarding performance...

Hmmm I will have to check this out. Will test it during the day and see what happens.

y9kdude, if you want to upload a simple .exe demo of your problem I can test it on my ipaq PocketPC.

I can't, as of yet, recreate the problem. Everything seems to be running smoothly.
I am using v1.3.8.
Here's the game...

Well, it's not the only game I've made that pauses, but here it is.
http://www.rotago-game.com/
Just go to the downloads section and download the Pocket PC version.
Let me know if you experience this pausing.

Nice game! I quite enjoyed the demo. It's quite tough!
I do not experience the pausing however.
y9kdude have you tried loading the game on a memory card and playing off there? I don't know if it will make a difference but I'd like to know for interests sake.

Copy the cab file to your Pocket PC and then tap on it to install the program.

I tested the PocketPC version of rotago on my 2003 iPAQ running PocketPC version 4.2 and I don't see the problem you are encountering. It may be that I just don't see it because there isn't any long smooth movements going on, like a bullet traveling across the screen.
I have noticed on my own games a pause happening when I have a looping statement like a 'while' or 'do-while' that is either really long or isn't coded cleanly.
Great game btw, suppa fun.
A better test

I have another program that is a model of the solar system and it seems to suffer the same problem, even on my computer. I can send you the windows executable or the Pocket PC exe for that if you'd like me to. It's clearly visible after about 15 minutes on my computer... pauses for a quarter of a second ever a half second just as I described for the Pocket PC. The file is attached.

y9kdude I am busy running the application on my pc. Can you put the Pocket PC version up for download as well?

Here is the pocket PC version of our solar system... just a little FYI: you can change the speed of the rotation or rotate the solar system by dragging the sun in a certain direction. When you have increased the speed fast enough you will clearly be able to see the pause after, say, 5 to 10 minutes.
Also, on one final note: you can move the planets individually but they will not return to the orbit after you have done this.

It's a cool program.
I've tested the pc version and I see now what you mean. After a long while it started doing as you described. Eventually it got really slow and when I returned from lunch the program has crashed.
I wonder if there's maybe a memory leak?
I will quickly test the Pocket PC version.

The Pocket PC version did the pausing thing after a while and then crashed later with a message that there is not enough memory to run the application.
I will let my game run a bit and see if it does the same.
If not (hopefully) then an upgrade to the latest version of Game Editor will fix it. Well I'll quickly do that.
