Lexilio Game (Now V.1.7) /11-16-08/

Im working on a somewhat simple but advanced game.
It stars lex condran. so far i have a shop/3 houses/Dialogue /Sword-Potions-keys-bombs\
Money/monsters/hp/a items menu/ But im now working on a chest.
the chest will open when you use a key. But what i need is to ake it drop stuff randomly when opened.
Does anyone know this?

Yes now i have the chest. IT wont drop anything but randomly adds to your variable modifiers.
Now i need more monsters. And a boss. A.I and they will come back after awhile. Does anyone know how to do this?

V.1=Heres The game so far. I nnow have a boss that is really irratating.
if you touch him you bounce back.XXX
V.1.4=(Well i have come back to Lexilio as it is my favorite game to be)
I have now made some interesting changes (Chests still retarded) now there exists Hp/Att/Def stats i have worked it out
All monsters and Lex have Hp/Att/Def. For lex to get more att and def just buy a shield or sword. Also you can only hurt enemies while your sword is out and only if the sword touches them. lol the glitches seem weird and the message dialogue may be less visible in peoples houses but Lexilio is now better than it was. {YAY meh}
(Now Heres V.1.5 its awesomer)xxxxx
V.1.6(? Alot of fixes to things and changes many things as now calculators for dm making the game always the same difficulty as most chars HP/DEF/ATT all = Lex.Stat/2, so the spells also got better as Lex.att/2 = MA of spells +bonus)
V.1.7(I have fixed much of the bugs with dm of monsters too high or healing you, Mp/mon regens, New filled region on music choices, NEW stat :Spd: makes you move pretty fast, So far stats Are Hp,Mp,Att,Def,Spd,Mdef)

hey lex, I can't really help, because this sort of game is not my specialty,

but, I would like to say it is coming along very nicely.. good work!

And, I recommend to those members working on RPGs style games to have a look at this, and help Lex out.. :D

Thank you that was very polite. So far now i'am working on the monsters. They do need some work on the ai.
My game though does look really cheap and funny. All they do is folow you and apparently heal you.
I need to find a way to get the att variable to work. Basically when you draw the sword your right side animation
will be able to hurt due to it eqaulling your att varible. A=1 att S=0 att Yes im very confusing to some people that would
not know what it means yet. Im going to add a clock to show time next.

Now i have gotten my chests to work. It was because my lesser than greater than arrows were in the wrong direction.
(I cant figure out the new glitch with chests/if you open any they change animation/then end game and go back in/it will now clone an open chest and cover one of them as a ghost like actor and will have issues/i just need it to open when the 'opcs' =1/i have it working but besides that you can still use the chests after you open them/Unlimited stuff
Hp.potions, Bombs, Keys, $$, Sword+1att, Shield+1def, Basic items)

Yes Now for the 5th update to Lexilio
Now there are 5 new spells/Mp and Mdef/Plus mp potions
Also ive exteneded the lv a bit more and now you must have the boss key to get to him
Besides that when you mouse over certain things it tells about them in the dialogue.

If its only at v1.7 then think of what it will be like at v1.13 seriously if i get that far even though this game does need more levels in it as i need to find out how to use activation regions to create new map areas or load the levels somehow when you touch a end level portal

the only thing i suggest is to make animations for walking and to have more control under attcking
and try to fix the bug where enemies heal you


(i feel good that some 1 actually mentioned my name in a post lol :lol:)

well im not an animtaion expert and the attacking that i really want is simple. I want to have random roll thing 2-12 and you get to choose you hits/miss/criticals like FF games or like the thing you had for your rpg which is like FF.
Besideds the fact that the 1 animtaion is Lex.C's tyle as the more simple the better.
(Att/Def/Spd/Mdef/Mp/Hp)(2-12,Miss,hit,cri) i need to find alot more out in ordr to do things diferent but my newest stat Spd really overachieves and i dont know what is wrong with the monsters healing you i tried fixing i thouhgt it worked but no it just 1hit killed me hten i think i fix it but now the boss 1hit kills/again..He heals its like dude wtf

I thinking about putting names in where someone has their work in lexilio. Even though most stuff is mine

i just looked carefully at the coins image while playing until i got it just right. also from his inventory demo
