Little white dots...

Whenever there are a lot of actors on the screen at the same time, these little white dots start popping up all over the screen. This wouldn't bother me so much except that whenever i touch them my ship takes damage. Is this just because my computer has a slow processor or is there some way I can fix it? It really interferes with playing the game and I want to be able to put lots of actors on the screen.

Wow, I never heard of this bug before... That's really wierd, sorry I can't help you, I don't know why GE would do that.

They wouldn't show up on a screenshot--they are only one pixel big. I can check the shot animations, but I don't think they have anything to do with it, because the dots only show up when there are a lot of actors. When there is a lot of, say, lasers, the dots do as much damage as hitting a laser would. I think the problem is that I have too many complicated animations on the screen at one time. I really don't want to have to reduce the number of shots, so I want to fix it some other way

Well...I started cleaning up junk so i could get the file small enough to post, and then the dots went away. But the dots were still in other files. I think it has to do with my computer just being bad in general...because I changed one of the actors that there are many of to a one picture animation and the dots went away. Oddly enough, the dots will sometimes only appear when the background is a certain color. I'm kind of rambling here, but if anybody else gets this glitch my suggestion would be to try to make your animations simpler--but most of all, just keep trying random stuff.
On an unrelated note, what is a good free upload/download site? I want to show you guys my game but it is too big to post on the forums and my computer doesn't like to post on GE anyway. I just need a site where I can click a button, upload my game, and I can give you the address or whatever and you can download it. I tried to find one myself but...it didn't work like I wanted it to.

I hate those dots...

I use SaveFile, which works well for me.

Zygoth, are you sure this isn't problem with your video card for example? I've seen the white dot question in computer hardware forums too.

Probably, i'm sure you know more about it than me. I found a good upload site... and the dots are banished for now, so it's ok now.

If they appear again, you can check if it happens in certain card temperature.
For example SpeedFan (free) can detect many hardware sensors but not for example my video card temp. :)

yeah, I haven't had that problem before, but make sure you check your image files and watch your color codes to make sure nothing else messes up.

Well one thing that can help with many video cards are the OMEGA DRIVERS. http://www.omegadrivers.net/
They are hacked drivers for most ATI/NVIDIA/3DFX cards....

They have always helped me a lot with game compatability, and fixed lots of crashing errors for me, as all my computers have cheap ATI cards in them. They worked perfectly for me on these cards:
Radeon 9250 fx
Radeon 1050x
Radeon 1150 mobility

I've never used Nvidia or 3dfx cards....

You have to uninstall your current drivers first, so I take no responsibility for anything that happens. Make sure they support your card model before trying to use them. The installer guides you step by step and is very helpful.

Hope this helps.
