Here is one place for sprites. I don't know if it will help you. I retrieve the picture, open it in Paint and then make individual files for the different views of the sprites. That's a lot of work. But, there is a set of Baby Mario there.
The site says they're available to the public. But I don't know if this is the kind of sprites you're looking for. Is it just Mario?

I suppose no-one has them because they probably get sued for copyright issues. Get on limewire, and download an emulator and some of the supermario games. Use printscreen and paste, taking the parts you need and editing them accordingly.

You can look at these:
http://www.videogamesprites.net/SuperMarioBros/
http://www.sprite-town.tk/
This last one has some sprites under Nintendo Custom.

No. But I'll try to find it. Once I find it, what do I do? It sounds like a cool effect.

well after you get that you'll need a slightly bigger animation of link.then you can make it where-nm.i'll just put it step by step.
1.Select key down event.
2.Select wateer button you want to use to jump.
3.Select change animation so when you press the button link will get slightly bigger(like he is coming off the ground).
4.Then go to the shadow actor(make the shadow a seperate actor).
5.Change it's parent to link(or watever you named your player).
6.Change it's transparency to full so it's invsible(make sure that the shadow is placed below link).
7.Change it's z depth until it's it just behind link.
8.Select key down event and then select the button your going to use to jump.
9.Select change transparency and change it to 0.
10.Then select collission event.
11.Then select collission on and side of platform or watever link is walking on.
12.Then select change transparency so when link hits the ground the shadow is invisible again.
And there you go!When link jumps he'll get bigger like he's going up towards the screen and he'll have a shadow below him.

oh and the bigger link thing.if you have an animation editor like gimp or something or a windows painter thingy you can make link slightly bigger by yourself.and a shadow is really just a small, round, black ball.

Thank you, pavel329! I can't try it until tomorrow but then I will. I thought Link would have to be the shadow's parent! It sounds like it will work. I can make Link bigger and add the shadow I think. That was a lot of work on your part. Thanks very much!
I like your new avatar!

http://www.freewebs.com/electrod-gs/Images/AllGFX.bin
that is a file that contant the images
http://www.freewebs.com/electrod-gs/Images/SMW.tpl
and that one is the color palette to see the image properly
http://pkhack.fobby.net/down/progs/tlp.zip
and that is for opening the *.bin file and then click in view:Type:snes then click on palette:load and then open the *.tpl and there is a window called "palette" and click on the arrow to change colors.
NOTE:the *.bin is from the original Super Mario World ROM.
