mouse zdepth issues

Most everyone knows the problem with xmouse, ymouse and angles/directions so i did the usual of making a mouse actor(and so i could change it's look based off things). I have the mouse's zdepth to the highest (1.00) yet still things with significantly lower zdepth levels go infront of it, is this a bug? Or am i just stupid? It works if i parent the actor to the view, but then the mouse.x and mouse.y are off...anyway around this?
