That depends on what u wanna do.
It's really great for making quick and uncomplicated muscic.
Really handy, with loadsa good instruments.
It can even randomly make music by itself!
BUT: Those magix guys are real bloodsuckers!
There are two super-synthesizers beside the others, and u have to buy them editionally.
Also u can export into mp3 only limited, I think about 20 times or so.
To be able to export into mp3, u must buy the magix mp3 maker
BUT: U can make also cool videos, like special effects and much more stuff.

[EDIT] And now I use Cubase since Magix Music Maker provides little room for creativity.

yeah, I tried that mixcraft, but music maker isn't just close to it concerning complexity.

Well this is just a thing got out of a store and on the box it said FREE TAKE ONE but i tell ya it is nothin but crap.
