This technique is also used for Movement Blur, it will simulate a better way of a "perfect FPS" .
It is used a lot in 3D animations.

Yeah, I used it in Darkboy game...press J+I+L(when your powerbar is full) and J,L,J,I... :D
You'll understood it's script step by step Kirby...btw, I dont use script, but timers... :D
