Creating My First Character

Hey All,

I design Mods for PC games, like call of duty, medal of honour, half life 2 and others...It is really fun. Now i have always wanted to make a small game for my MOBILE phone! To call it my own...To say "I did that".

Now I am a good artist on paper...But computer art, well that's a whole new ball game right?

Some of the art and character work on here is amazing. I have downloaded a 30day trail to give GE a chance and at the moment, it is really fun and i can't wait to get started.

I made a quick stickman and got it to move in GE.

But my question is, Can i draw a person on paper and then put it on my comp then make that move? I know that sounds like a stupid question. But creating a stickman on paint, the bitmap was able to capture the drawing. If i was to draw a character on paper, will it pick up the paper background also?

Is there any good tutorials on creating a person?

Thank you for your help.

do you want it to pickup the background?

if you draw only 1 image.. it would be very difficult to make it move

if you drew multiple images, you could just use frame by frame animation, and GE will detect it in sequence

use the "magic wand" tool in photo shop to cut out the background if you dont want it there

whoops hehe i should of said about multiple pictures...

Yes of course i'm going to have multiple frames for walking and so on.

But i have looked online and seen that everyone uses pixals (paint) so i was wondering if i can create a walking scene on paper, then scan it to my computer. Then will GE still pick up the animation?

I mean it does when i created a stickman test walking on paint...but i'm a better drawer on paper hehe.

Thanks

hehe i should really try this first shouldn't I...

I just don't want to waste time in drawing frame by frame for it NOT to work, so i'm thankful for GE forums.

So if i put it on MS PAINT...would i have to change it into pixals?

ooh i just asumed t you already tired scanning it in :P

that all depends omn the format and resolution you choose while scanning it in
( i think you mean to ask will it look pixlated or 8 bit )

Hello,
I work with Photoshop Elements
Go as follows:

All motion phases individually draw
All drawings scan
Scanns all in a single file as a drag levels
With a magic wand in every level remove the white areas
Web store as GIF
Options for gif: no background, transparency, animate, ausgabegröße set and apply, save oK.

I hope it helps a little, and I would be happy times your finished work to see
