GE is easy to use, lets ya play around with stuff and teaches you scripting as a side effect.
And that's the best kind

No. But many use C derived scripting. Some use BASIC or other things like Lua (I don't know anything like GE which uses Lua, but Lua has been used for game programming - I think Ernest Adams may have a book which uses it).

u could use Game Maker but why?
GE is a bit harder in certain criteria.
and easier in other criteria.
If you wanta use GM, fine, but either use GE
or both (like me!)

GE is good, because it gives you a simple interface.
GE is good, because since it is action -driven structures your actions and codes very well, which most other software has in a more complicated form.
GE is good, because it supports many fileformats in sound, music, and graphics alike.
GE is good, because it shows pretty well what you are going to see in game, already in edit mode.
GE is good, because it is structured well enough to make any type of game with the apropriate skills.

Pretty much that should be enough to catch your attention... :D

GE is harder cause you have to use code more often, but it's still good.

ge is only better for one reason...
EVERYTHING

I got it free off a really old cd that came with a magazine
(ge was so old, it had orange boxes instead of silver and finding pix/music was very difficult)
and i have never wanted to use another software since :D

i remember that
this company called kids Quest in Barrie, Ontario, Canada is the only thing in the world that teaches kids how to make lego robots and program them you can also learn how to make video games using GE thats what got me going on it at this place i made a 3d maze in ge

unfortunately it went out of business because it cost like 20 to go there for 3 and a half hours and he raised the price up to 35 dollars per person per 3 and a half hours
