Play Sound Updates?

I'm just wondering if you are planning to update the playsound function for the next version.
Pan and pitch parameters would be the next obvious choices.

Excellent.
I can't play Quake Arena without sound because I can't tell where anyone is!!!
Panning is good!

Will there be other functions like volume or frequency? & Will MIDI be able to use these?

Only volume and Pan.
Not in midi files
