i need the ball to go random direction at start

Put:
angle = rand(360);
directional_velocity = 3;

In the create-actor script for the ball, and adjust the velocity to your liking.

You put it in the CREATE ACTOR event???
EDIT:
Works fine.. you must have used the draw-actor event...
