I own GE as well. It was a good purchase.

As for previous experience. Well I studied Computer Science and then later specialized in Computational Intelligence. I've worked as a programmer in c/c++ and Delphi. Delphi was a joy. These days I work mainly using c/c++. I've worked on some 3D engine development using DirectX but it was difficult and stressful.

These days I enjoy doing some mobile development. My dream is to become a game designer since I've always just been on the programming end.

Game Editor is amazing. I've worked with a lot of Pocket PC libraries over the years. Back when GapiDraw was free, PocketFrog, and even for a short while I used GledPlay until it's terrible demise. Last year sometime I had to choose a development tool to create applications for the Pocket PC and ended up choosing GE.

GapiDraw was very easy to use but had terrible support. EDGELIB had amazing support and features but it was expensive and I was getting tired of having to use so many different versions of Visual Studio with so many libraries and updates and it was just getting annoying. EDGELIB has since come out with cheaper versions and is something to look at for enthusiasts. Especially for creating 3D apps on the Pocket PC. Then there was PPL. In the end I had to choose between PPL and Game Editor. PPL performs better on Pocket PC than Game Editor but it takes a while to get used to.

I chose Game Editor in the end because it's easy to use, it's got great support in the forums, it's impressive what Makslane has created on his own, it works on so many platforms... and the list goes on.

The only thing that irks me a bit about Game Editor is the script editor. It goes a bit weird when I copy and paste a lot. I also can't use my mouse wheel or the cut an paste buttons on my keyboard. Also it takes a while at times to tab to another program window. So currently I type all the code in Visual C++ and then paste it directly into the script editor within GE. This seems to work faster. Otherwise GE is absolutely great and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

Especially for Windows Mobile and GP2X development.

Yep! 1.3.3
Though I really want to buy new version, but there is too low diffense :(
When the interface becomes not crappy and bluetooth\wi-fi multiplayer support comes to GE - it's deffenetly the moment to buy it for many people. I'm one of them so we'll wait)

You should buy it now.. get one of the update deals. You know the price will come up when networking gets added.. and if you still have upgrades you will not have to pay for that increased price.

I don't own Ge yet, making mobile games is what I have always wanted to do. I am a big fan of the N-gage.

Dose GE make good mobile games? Are there any demo's or a list of compatable devices?
