Merry Christmas Makslane!

You are giving a very generous gift to all of the people who haven't yet purchased Game Editor... Come on people. This is your chance.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Linux Man has seen this post?

Happy Holidays to all of you.

This is what got me to buy and try.

I can justify $15 to purchase in order to learn the product.

Once I seriously have a game to produce which warrants it, I'll bump up to a full subscription. It seems likely that you'll get quite a few nibbles in this new pricing scheme.

P.S. Oh, and on a side note... Hash Animation:Master follows a similar fee schedule (initial cost = $300 annual subscription for free updates = $100)
Fair job I say.

Not to sound like someone who's defecting, but has anyone actually tried Jamagic? They claim some interesting features, such as 3D, likely 2D rotation and image manipulation, and multimedia capabilities (movie clips, etc). It's a confusing site with multiple prices ($99 and $399), plus the Pocket PC platform pack for an additional $49.

The Platform Pack won't even install without a registration code, and I don't think the Jamagic Demo will even export or save, so I'm hesitant on even downloading it.

The site doesn't even have a lot of information on Pocket PC support (maybe in support forums?) and the files seem a little dated, compared to the newest hardware out today (meaning, will they have full support?)

I really want 2D manipulation and VGA support most of all. Particle graphics, file control, and date/time capability would also be key. I have so many ideas, and I'm hoping Makslane could implement these things soon!

For now, with a bit of tweaking, you can implement particle graphics using ParticleIllusion from Wondertouch(http://www.wondertouch.com).

If you need help/examples, tell me, I'd be glad to help!

I am actually bought a copy of Jamagic, it is a dead product. Forget the 3D part, it is totally outdate.

I haven't install the PocketPC pack because I don't have Jamacrap in my HD.

I think there might be a demo of creating a particle generator within GE.
This would be in the Help section with all the animated demo's.

A dedicated particle generator might be helpful in the future, with being able to just plug in all the settings and graphics, in addition to being able to code it in a script.

I would appreciate just feature-limited demoversion, as I'm freeware game developer and I'm not willing to pay any money for a tool I'll never earn anything from. And in the 30-day trial period I can make no more than one game, or no game at all. Also, the "Made With Game Editor" text shouldn't be displayed in games exported from demoversion as it is annoying even in freeware games. Ever thought about loading screen with GE logo?

I have not earned anything from learning and using Adobe's Photoshop, yet I pay for it willingly. Regardless of everyone's financial philosophy, to each his own.

Also, I've spent almost twenty hours creating my first game and learning GE during the process. It's just about completed.

If you decide to continue using GE, I look forward to the games you create.
Hopefully we can be of service in order to assist and encourage you along the way.

I just don't understand why the hell I have to pay for something I will never use commercialy. If I can do something for free just for fun of all gamers, why can't somebody do the same for developers? Luckily, just recently I won 4th place in Stormmill's PocketPC competition and probably they will buy me a GE licence in near future, so I can sell the game. If GE was free, I wouldn't have to enter a competition to export it legally and I would release it as a freeware. In the end, I think that's just gamers' bad luck, not mine.

EDIT: btw, average monthly salary in Slovakia is about $400 (USD), do the math.

Now, that's the reason why I frequent the boards so much. Holy toledo, I've never seen this program in my life and it's just amazing to watch the video clips of these renderings.

I'm going to see about picking up a copy, the explosions are just what I needed!

For a particle program creator, I recomend GenEx. 8)

Got a URL for GenEx? Perhaps I'm not searching right, but Google doesn't come up with much.

I've never seen ExGen! It's a lot cheaper the the pro version of ParticleIllusion. I'll look into it, thanks for the tip!
