If you will release the game with the GPL v3 license, you don't need to buy.

Uhm sorry if I am hijacking the topic but if I would like to contribute, where do I begin? Already sent a message on sourceforge to the project manager if I remember correctly?

If you are a C/C++ guy, the first step is download the code and compile it.
After that, try understand how the code works (for example, what is need to make a port, ...)

OK i need a little clarification
-Game-Editor is and always will be 100% Free
-The license needed to make money from these games is NOT free, but you can give away games
-if you do give away games are you FORCED to give the source code if they ask?
