You need to work on your perspective. Some things look a bit off kilter.

You could try putting your perspective focus point in the centre and have perspective guidelines radiating out to help you figure out the various angles of objects / rooms. The ladder in the narrow room for example: the rungs at bottom or top are visible depending on the height position. The lights in the large room won't look wonky if you use the perspective guidelines properly.

That narrowest room I think is a bit too narrow. Try to put a bit of space around the ladder. This way you have enough for side entrances or shelving to store gadgets (makes it more interesting).

Using a vector program makes it easier to do all those perspective lines. Once done you could just import your rough work into a paint program for more finishing touches. I use Inkscape (vector program), GIMP & KolourPaint (both art programs). I think KolourPaint & Inscape are linux only.

Hope these images & links are a helpful:

LARGE ROOM (better perspective with central focus)

NARROW ROOM (perspective for better ladder looks & spacing).

Have you tried DST's music site?

You can filter by tags and license types (creative common stuff too).
Here's a list of Dark tagged themes: http://www.freesound.org/browse/tags/dark/

Good luck with project :D

Perspective:
I'm not that good with graphics... And I put two points in the large room because I'm a bit lazy.
Drawing:
Don't need it, I got an entire book on perspective.
Music:
As a matter of fact, yes. Nothing there fits.
I'll check out Freesound.
Good luck with project :D

Thanks.

All the planned rooms has been made and implemented! I will now do some finishing touches on some of the rooms.

Wow cool video, I have to say that seeing the game in action makes it a lot more appealing than just the screenshots. I really like the transitioning between rooms, as well as the close-up of the coin, allowing for some tougher puzzle action.

A rusty box of some sort.
To avoid further spoilers, I will not reveal where it is and what it will be used for.
All I'll say is that it is not finished.

No, this game is not cancelled. Development is going slowly because school keeps getting in the way. But the game is almost finished now.
