should use xvel and yvel variables, then base animations on those.. that way it solves both collision and animation issues with 1 stone.

Okay i did it, sorry it took me so long i didn't like my other method, it wasnt good enough. so i used the collision free method.
it works really nice. i also ported it to the QVGA pocket pc.

It's probably not working because of 2 sensors (green sensors in view zone called moveLeft and moveRight).
These sensors work when they touch player, they stars doing an action (moving view)

And now to your movement. It's fantastic! Amazing job dude! This is so great. I'm still not understanding these CollisionsFree :/

I mean, not so good to use them in script like this one! But this is great!

+1 for you sir

Thanks

Now I will make a new version of Minecraft 2D and add your movement style. Then we can do the inventory.

Alright. This will be our basic game guys (in case that something won't work, we can always start again from this file)

Yeah. Well, he needs to have some digging limit. I will make animations later (in few hours) and then i can add sounds.

The idea is to add few types of tools (Axe, pickaxe, sword) and then to add items like all you collect in the game

this is looking good camper :) need to work on a better block damage system, like in my one where you hold to destroy the blocks.
ill upload it when i can get my inventory to work... 90 slots... so maaany.... XD but yeah, its looking ok so far :)
1 tip: inventory is the i key in minecraft.

ok, i see how youve done your damage system now.. and heres my attempt, there are loads of glitches but hey, try it out anyway...
press i to get the inventory up/down but it doesnt work.
right click next to/ above or below a block to place another block
left click on a block to destroy it... slowly...

wasd to move the character (a little white box)

there is a minimap at the top right corner of the screen, has 1 glitch that ive seen..
save/load works for blocks but not the player, it jumps positions when you load it for some odd reason... stays on screen though :)
also you can pick up the debree left from destroying the blocks, just doesnt add to the inventory yet.

enjoy :P

PS: if you find anything useful, +1 would be nice.

Wow savvy. That is amazing! :D

Awesome minimap, great saving and loading games. Nice nice!

We just need to work more on that inventory, but your block destroying system will be used. Thats sure.
And we need to make generator. In layers.

+1 because this is very well done!
Thanks

edit: my generator is okay, but its not making the blocks randomly. I mean, it makes 1 layer of blocks (dirt with grass) and then just make new and new
blocks under it, like, 4 dirt, 3 stone... and so on and as you can see on the picture, it does not look realistic :p (I must think about it more)

cheers :). yeah, inventory needs work, but i can easily do the randomizers with dirt too, my problem with that is i need to make a dynamic view instead of it being just in the sections, probably meaning i need to completely re-do it. but yeah, i noticed you've done your very differently to mine XD you code differently too.

I tested the success.zip, it rocks! Great progress so far guys!! Things are so much easier when we can all work together on it! :)

Reminds me of a phrase:

Working in a team divides the task and multiplies the success! 8)

:P That's true man. I'm glad that we can cooperate so good.
Savvy, about the view. I was thinking about to make the view parented to an actor that will follow the
player with some time delay.

Here is an example of what I mean:

By the way, I'm re-editing the player's animations now so he will be able to move hands while smashing blocks!
