webOS, touchpad and a world of opportunity

So I just bought the new touchpad on firesale and I have seen images of the lines and heard reports of the hundreds of thousands sold. Anyways I got to thinking there is going to be a real need for apps (especially games) for the device. So here comes my question; Is it possible to port a game-editor project to the touchpad or other webOS devices?

lets make the HP touchpad a better device with more options for fun games!

Is it possible to port Game Editor to a discontinued OS? Why? That effort would be invested in real, alive platforms such as droid.

First of all, the OS has not been discontinued, the hardware has.

Secondly there are now half a million users out there with limited choices. I just figured you would like to reach them.

And as far as turning the device into an Android machine, I have yet to read of one person who can do it with any ease.

More touchpads are being produced, and webOS is perhaps being optioned out, does anybody have any idea how to load a GE project up for webOS? I know it runs on linux (basically) and I think I can hack my device to run a linux executable, but I'd love to be able to submit my game as an app to the app store.

I took a peek at the source code and it seems to me that ge could easily be ported to just about anything. But the main thing is that to actually port something, you must have the device. So unless you want to do it with your device or somebody wants to buy one for one of the developers....
But don't worry, that thing will be hacked more then android soon enough! If there's anything hackers love is bring light to a discontinued device. In a few years you'll have more things to do on your touchpad than you ever thought. Hell I'm still playing my Dreamcast!

Yeah webos with it's homebrew community is huge into hacking it, it's a fantastic thing, so hopefully some sort of a solution will pop up eventually.

thanks a lot for posting.

I actually have two dreamcasts... I should look into hacking one this weekend, give me a little project.
