Hi guys! It's been a long time since I posted a game here.
When I was much younger I used to play Pipe Mania a lot with my brother, a week ago I thought that it would be a good idea to recreate it and that's what I'm doing since than in my free time, the game is playable but has a lot of bugs so I won't release it yet, but I can put up some pictures of it. It's graphics are not as good as any other games here, but I'm not a great graphic designer either :)
Update (2015.08.21 Y-m-d):
Beta version finally released!

Features:
-Achievements
-2 Player mode
-Simple graphics
-Statistics
-Customizable Gameplay

Zoli, you seem to often surprise us with the amount of creativity you've been saving for your inactivity!
+1 for the awesome game concept and progress (Judging from the screenshots), though not too original, this proves nothing can't be made with game editor! Kudos! ;)

Thanks for the feedback :D

I'm trying to develop it as fast as I can so it reaches a Beta state (if we can call it like that, since it's not a big game).
I know it's not original, I'm still trying to come up with something no one have seen but it isn't that easy :)

Here are some information of the game (of it's current state):
- Supports 2 players
- You can set the time, the number checkpoints (up to 10) and the number of obstacles (up to 99).
- 7 different pipe + one obstacle
- Fully functionating water system
- A Fast Forward button
- Music (DST-H2O and DST-SimpleMachines)
- An option to turn off the music
- A Debug console in case something goes wrong

What will be added:
- Achivements to keep the game interesting. :)
I hope I can release a playable version as soon as possible :)

Pipes looks like a promising puzzle game. The graphics look fine for a puzzle game. Nice work. 8)
If you get a chance to post a video of the game in action, that would be cool as I've never played this style game from what I remember.

Hi!
Thanks for the feedback, I actually made a video for you. :) It's not that good but it can give you the general idea of tha game. I might make an Fails video of it because I had to start recording 10 times. :D
Anyways here is the link:

The video might need a few minutes to be available.
Have fun and sorry for the unprofessionalism.

Thanks! Cool video. No need to have perfection. Looks like a fun game and now I do remember playing a version of a puzzle game similar to this years ago.
The timer is a challenge, but keeps the game tense. 10 to 999, good option.
That was nice to see the water flow through the pipe once you connected all the pieces.
Two player option, nice.
Keep up the great work! 8)

Ok, guys Beta 1.0 is finally out and ready for testing. :D
I don't release the ged, just yet because it would spoil the achievements, and I don't want that, but I might just release it anyways because hacking is pretty easy... We'll see :)
If you have any ideas/problems just let me know, and I'll add/fix it.
Here are some pictures, of the new version:

Congratulations on completing the game.

The file is large, about 43 mb I see. If there is music, is it in ogg vorbis format? That takes up very little storage, exportable in that format through the Audacity editor.

I see, it was in wav, but I'll change it really fast. I don't want my games take up too much space, I want to keep it as simple and small as I can. :D
___
Update:
I'm not saying that I didn't really care about the audio, but I think that's what really happened. I've uploaded the new game file which is 7,38 MB, and that's a lot improvement.
Thank you Zivouhr for mentioning it, it really helped :D

You're welcome. 8)
Big difference, yes. Audacity is an awesome exporting and audio editor. Ogg Vorbis for music (one track at a time in GE) sounds just as great yet is also very small in data size compared to expensive wav format, which is best saved for sound effects.

The game Pipes looks well designed and the water flowing through the pipe line after completion is a cool effect. Well done! The two player mode is a nice addition also.

What was the biggest challenge on this project and how did you overcome it?

There weren't any really big challanges, the hardest parts were the Water flowing system and the maps system, because there were a lot of errors. :)
Actually right now in the debug mode there is a button that tests if the maps have a start and an end, later I might add more functionality to map generating so it still might help me out :)

Thanks Tzoli. A debug definitely helps, especially with testing out the later levels. 8)
Is there a possibility there might be a Linux and Mac version in the future?

Wow, I did disappear from this forum faster than I remembered, I even left unanswered posts :(
It's a little late to answer, but if there is requirement, than I will surely export them on Linux and MacOS too.
