If you would like a monster opponent to disappear (leave the view) after he says something like "So long, I'll be back!" how do you do it? Do you move him to a coordinate that's outside the view?

It depends, you could give him velocity to make him walk off, or you could destroy him, or make him invisible, and leave behind a flash or something. You can use any method, so choose the one that suits what you want it to do.

Thank you, DilloDude! How would you make him invisible and leave behind a flash? This is for my 11 year old nephew who is really ripping with Game Editor but I can't answer all his questions! If it means I have to check a demo, please just let me know which one.

DilloDude was right on -- as usual. The great thing about GE is that it offers an astonishing number of ways to do something.
If your nephew is using GE, tell him to right click on the actor that he wants to have disappear or appear. Open the actor's control panel. Under the actor's name, he will see a "transparencey" slider bar. Use the slider to control the actor's transparency.
If he is using the script editor, he can add a transparency by using the variables/function button there...
