Rating:
Music/Sound: 8
Art: 7
Gameplay: 7
22/30. -> A nice game. :D

Yay! More vehicle violence! Your artwork is slightly improving Knuckle, keep it up and you might make games with nice artwork! The music also suits the running over people on road, except that it could get a bit too repetitive. The gameplay is also fun, but like most games you make, it's a bit too repetitive. If you made the people spawn more randomly at start. Don't make the police the first person appearing, it'll confuse newbies.

Suggestions to make me love the game: Add a music juke box, make it easy at first (Slow movement and less police spawning), and gradually harder, and make the people generation more random.

Still, it's good, and keep it up Knux. :D

Thanks jon. :D

Have you lived long enough to try all 10 vehicles and 4 powerups :P

gradually harder: Yes what a brilliant idea. Would you have any idea how to do this?

People spawning randomly: Ok!

Music jukebox: Maybe

Thanks again for playing :D

Only tried the tank car, and 3 power ups, but I will. :P

knucklecrunchgames wrote:gradually harder: Yes what a brilliant idea. Would you have any idea how to do this?

Simple. Make a variable (Diff for example) going up as you survive (Diff++). If the variable is bigger than a certain number, make the harder people like police spawn, if not make the normal citizens spawn...
Something like this.
Code: Select all
Diff++;
if(Diff>600)//(600/30 frames=20 seconds))
{
    CreateActor("Police","PoliceAnimName",x(Right edge of screen),random y from top of road to bottom,true);
}

VICIOUS VEHICLES Review by Wertyboy

Good:
- Fun, Addictive and hard :P
- Are those arts were made in MSPaint? Look actually good
- Working shield!

Bad:
- There should be a tutorial or something. Since at first I thought this game was about crashing everyone
- Killing innocent pedestrians is BAD! :(
- The "Share" button doesn't work at all. The game closes after pressing the button is also a bad idea
- No sounds for Cops Pistols, Losing
- Invincible Cops!
- Boring, repetitive music
- Boring environment (Add more background when reaching a specific time, like bridge or something)
- Rainbow Wrench doesn't stand for Shield
- Bullets are black, same color as the zebra cross outline. So I was like "I died because of driving on the wrong lane?!"
- Lack of animations (I mean flying pedestrians isn't enough :( add fading or flashing or something, but still the animations are good)
- and...... THIS:
Image

I don't wanna rate games since I don't want to hurt people's feeling.
But yeah, I love the idea of the game, but this game still need more works. So keep up the good work ;)

- Wertyboy not to be mistaken as your mommm

Yes, what were you smoking when you thought that was a good idea??? Forcing people to click on ads is NEVER a good idea.

I do agree with Jolt, not about you smoking. :lol:, but tbh ads just make me a pissed on playing a certain game, if you actually have to click it to play. You can always write "Go to knucklecrunchwebs.com for more games" or a more games button, not force people to click ads. That would be much better. I even click that more games option in some games that are good. If you made my suggestions, and maybe improve the people graphics or make them to stickman (I didn't add this in the review because I was in a hurry.), more people will try and play your games by adding a more games button. ;)

@wertyboy: Thanks for playing werty and I don't mind you rating it. The sharing highscore does work, you just have to be patient :). The gameplay does get repeative and I will add more backgrounds and stuff. Someone else also requested the tutorial and I will add that. Killing innocent people is fun! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:.

@all: I will remove the ad at the start but I will have to put ads in the game to keep my website running.

@mrjolteon: I don't smoke.

Vicious vehicles review by sonicforvergame:

First impression:
-the game changes from the other ,but it still reminded me of the old games because of the style but that isn't bad

The good:
-you worked more on coding than before now that the game isn't repetitive and quite easy to make
-a teeny tiny work on the graphics which is great keep working
-the game concept isn't bad it changes from the usual

The bad:
-the graphics thought are better are still very badly executed
-the lack of perspective hurt my eyes (the road and the cars are not supposed to be like that)
-the music tend to get annoying in the end
-Bugs about the cops
-your AD which is terrible self proclaiming and attention seeking (if you want people to play your game NEVER make them Do it)
-lack of animation overall cars doesn't look like moving cops and humans don't look like walking/shooting and the death animation

I would rate that game 5 out of 10 already because of your effort Even thought 3 weeks seem kind of a lot to make the game but still you worked well

Good production rate, the next one !
Clever, how you recycled elements of your former games, now the amazing flyers
are living up to their name !
And on the outlines, you have improved a little. But try to distinguish the
graphics by different outlines, e.g. how near/far or (un)important they are.
Your grafic style is not as bad as some people are complaining, but giving some
animations to your main objects isn't a bad idea.
And maybe, you will discover the rest of the 16 mio. colors in your live !

I noticed some sound here on linux, which GE version are you using ?

You are also stepping into the Html5 scene, I saw on your web site, what is
the tool you are using, Construct2 ?

This was the positive feedback, now let's come to something completely different...

Knucklecrunchgames, you are really shocking !
First I thought, the ad-button is only a test dummy, but your post here makes
it clear, it's really a link.
You are even topping the usual suspects, Google, Apple, Windows, and nowadays,
also U(n)buntu !
There you know, they are all like E.T., and what they need your data for...
But forcing players to click on a totally obscure link to start the game is
a no-go !
And what makes you think, any potential user will give your suspicious app
permissions for the web ?
No, you have to give the web-adress, and a good reason to visit it, e.g.
supporting the developer ! Than the player can decide, if (s)he will support
you, or not.

Coming to the moving graphics, entering the C-64 era.
Really, it looks like a C-64 under heavy load, trying to perform scrolling,
and displaying interlaced sprites.
How did you manage it, to make the scrolling look so bad, and the pedestrians
being so hardly to see ?

That's no offense here, but there is a problem in your code, or in GE itself,
though I don't believe, GE can't display smooth and clearly visible moved
graphics.
On Game Jolt I noticed, you didn't mentioned the dev-tool, is it GE at all ?
Fix that, before you make all players blind !

On the increasing difficulty level you are working, I hope ?
Tell me, how shall I survive with that gigantic fire truck, leaving no space
to avoid the enemies ? I'm always dying at once, when I've got the fire truck !

Though nice to hear sound on Linux, I would prever some FX, instead of music.

Nice work up to here, but bring it to an end, this time !

Cheers !

@Sonic Thanks for playing sonic. I'm glad to see people are rating the game. Thanks for the kind words about the game
@Digiot Thankyou as well for playing. I'm using the GE that sky released.
@all I have put difficulty choice instead of slow to fast as I love the fast game at the start. So the choices are Beginner, Intermediate and Pro.

Omg, how does it sound for you ?
Of course, I mean you should stay at your projects, fixing bugs, improving the
gameplay and the graphics, and perhaps adding some new features.
And somewhere in the future, maybe you can call it "completed".
On Game Jolt, I would call it "pre-release", if I were you.

You are really busy, the next release, still not the final version...
But here you have caught some real bugs (Linux version).
The menus are working well, in the tutorial, a description of the powerups
would be nice.
I can't tell you exactly, which of the powerups is causing the bugs, but it must
be the 4th or the 5th one.
There are different scenarios:
–You lost your car, but the game runs on and on...
–You are getting a second car, on top of the first one, and you can play on,
moving both cars like one.
–Three army cars are entering the view from the left side, spread over the whole
road, in one column.
–Suddenly, I had the fire truck, but it turns back into the normal car at once.

I'm not sure, what is a bug, and what is intended.

I was curious, to see the scrolling in action in the beginner version,
but it looks like in the first version, the intermediate and the pro version.

Since Bee-Ant is around here at the moment with a thread about smooth animations,
I took the chance to ask there, what may cause this problems.
Maybe, he is so kind to help here...

Cheers !
