I'm not active any more because college keeps me occupied most of the time... :(
I still make test games using gE though. :P

Nice to see people post and join Game Editor, even if for a short while.

I'm a fan of Game Editor overall as a very useful, free 2D game creation tool for PC, Mac, Linux. Tried Game Maker, but they charge for more features to unlock. In the past, had game creation software, but nothing as detailed as Game Editor allows. Really like the interface of Game Editor a lot.

The scripting of C language is a big challenge for someone who prior to Game Editor, has never scripted code before, but it's fun when you finally through trial and error (lots of it for me), discover a solution. Most of the answers I needed were already in this forum thankfully and thanks to the helpful forum members for new tips and scripts for game challenges. Had this forum not been here, I would've been lost when creating my first game Tomb of Twelve, and would've given up to try another program.

What are your current games that you're working on with Game Editor?

So far I've made:
Tomb of Twelve (side scrolling adventure/puzzle game)
Robotic Downfall (arcade blaster game)
Currently working on City of Rott: Streets of Rott (side scrolling brawler kind of like Streets of Rage).

I've heard some people say that gE is very hard compared to most other engines (I guess I'm not doing too bad  )
How would GE compare to simply coding a game from scratch in plain C?

Extremely easy, especially since four years ago I learnt to code C using gE

I can say Game Editor is easier to program for once the new developer takes a look at how the game demos work, seeing what makes them work and how changing the code affects the game with trial and error.
I still have to dissect a Unity3D Game to see what makes it work as a 2D game, but until then, Unity 3d is a puzzle to me compared to the intuitive interface, demos, very helpful forum, tutorials and examples of Game Editor 2D.

I check in occasionally to see what's happening. Still working on GE projects that will take a while to finish, and I have learned a great deal from reading what others have written here.
I think there are more like me who are here watching with interest what others are doing but not very vocal as pressed for time. I don't think I've made many posts but I use GE a lot and prefer it over other similar programs.
GE is too good a program to fade away into obscurity.

Wow, gE is definitely dead when there's been no reply to this post for over 6 months

I'm sorta alive, but loosing hope. I've got efforts to learn other tools which is different from last year because despite achieving little with gameEditor I feel strangely attached to it and I was hesitant at first to explore other options. I've still got projects in gameEditor on and off, don't know if I'll makes something good again though...

Glad to see some old faces here :D

I moved to the web development.
But no denial, GE was and still is my coding foundation!
