Hey crimson, I checked out the video and I found nothing wrong with the sliding. That's how sonic always slides... just sayin' :D

skydereign wrote:What exactly do you want? You seem to have it already setup, you just need to decrease the 0.95 to something lower, at least if you want the slide to be less extreme. Also you seem to be using two script editor invocations per event for quite a few events. I wouldn't recommend doing that, as you can easily combine both scripts. It's a lot more manageable that way. One other thing, you currently are using the same spin animation for both directions. This looks rather weird as sonic is spinning in the opposite direction.

Sorted it out now.

I personally find it much more managable when using seperate Script Editor invocations for certain events - that's just how I roll.
And I know about the animation - cosmetics aren't exactly high up on my to-do list right now. Although, care to tell me how I go about having directionaly dependant animations for spinning?

Still seems rather slippy though in comparison to SEGA's style. The video may not really be the best demonstration of what I mean - you'd have to try out the tech demo to see - but before I release that, I hope to fix some other minor issues. :)

Me too :D Once I have this Tech Demo finished, the Engine should be in it's GM stage and I can really get stuck in with the actual making of the game itself. xD

Yeowch, it's been a while, GE!

For starters, I apologise for my shortcomings regarding updates to this topic as of late. I've had final exams in school and such to deal with, so that prevented me from using the internet much. However, Sonic: Velocity has certainly come a long way since my last report here!

The core engine is finished now, and I've began work on the actual meat of the game at last - I'm currently working on Act 2 of Stage 1, Emerald Plain. Here's a little screenie to keep you amused:

I've found voice actors for ever character in the game too, and I've started work on the cutscenes. Compared to Empire of Nightmares, this is going to be one hell of a leap forward! I'm also putting the finishing touches to a teaser trailer that's sure to knock the pants right off you! Keep your eyes peeled!

The main menu has also been redesigned to something more...flashy. Heheh, among other things.

I'll probably consider showing off Tech Demo 2 publicly soon enough. For now though, private testers only. ^^;

As promised, folkies - I present to you the first Teaser Trailer for Sonic: Velocity!

In this footage, Shadow takes on a mysterious new opponent who seems to harness a power far greater than anything the Ultimate Lifeform has ever faced before. Want to find out more? Stay tuned! xD

Anyway, hope you enjoy this little cutscene: all realtime, of course - nothing pre-rendered or post-processed onto the video here.

I'm thinking of showcasing another tech demo soon enough too, might hire you to do some more testing perhaps? :D

Also, for anyone new visiting the topic - check out my previous post on this page regarding the teaser trailer. n_n
