How do you make an animation of an enemy blowing up?

Actually I moved this topic here (general is where it was before). This is an art related question, so ultimately it goes here. I haven't made it yet, but there will be a questions/requests subforum in the resources, which will hold this type of question. And the general forum on this board is not for questions, that goes to support's general.

Your question is too general. Could you please go into a little more depth?

you could make an explosion animation and add it to the actor... or is that not what you wanted?
