id like to be apart of this too, i can be helpful in creating an entire skills list, :)

for example skills
- phase shift - (character any mage or magic user )

your chatacter creates a stationary, transparent, inactive clone of himself and "teleports" to a specified location, ( cursor, or if cursors are not used, then 1/2 screen distence ) ( make this a toggle button on)

once your character uses the skill again, he is teleported back to the location of his clone, and the clone is destroyed ( toggle off)

this skill can be used as an offensive or defensive tactical maneuver

i have many many more ideas for skills and attacks, but il save them for the game ;)

For me the most interesting are strategy and simulation. :D Those are also the ones I play most.
In both you plan what to make and then do it. There is no one-correct-way-to-win. :)

I would like to see some strategy and simulation projects in GE.

Lol. Yeah, its pretty addicting.

That's right. Most of the lost projects in my sig were strategy/simulation. I lost them because my computer got formatted due hardware problem. :|

I've just made a strategy game and posted it... I'm sure you saw. I think I'm good at creating AI, and finishing complicated code. I've done it several times. :) Don't be surprised, I get a head-ache most of the time too! :mrgreen:

Nice! I'll have to check it out. I've downloaded a few of the demos and games which have been posted but haven't been able to play them, yet.

I'll add yours to the queue. :lol:

WHat if we combine strategy/simulation and RPG style? We can make some sort of hero's and an AI which picks the skills.
I would like to help mojo domo with the skills, because I have no experience in game making whatsoever (mostly because I want to make games above my level, I should start lower, I see now)
Else I'll take a cursus C and then I am usefull to the world!
Oh crap I start babbling already, so I quit (dunno where the Backspace button is)
argh there I go again!!!

most of my code is "improvised" or "trial and error" because im new to programming, so im not the best person to ask lol :P

there are alot of experienced ppl in programming tho, look at this and you can see who has been recognised for their strenghts in programming

Is Makslane really that good at coding? Didn't know that...

Hu?
Am I still allowed to help Mojo Domo? I've played Guild Wars too!!
I use the trial-and-error method too, but it's like errorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerroralittlesuccesserrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrorerrormoresucceserrorerrorerrordestroyedthesuccesserrorerrorerrorerror
to me.
I'm as example making a game with a three legged monster when I go down his three legs should go like
Leg1.y -= 20;
Leg2.y -= 00;
Leg3.y += 20;
But first they stay at y=0 and when I change something everytime I go down his legs move 20 pixels up so after a while theyre out of the screen -.-
of course
O wait thats for another topic
babble babble
