been a while but w7 still my main os- still running linux to check for cross-platformability.
i would like to ask- what is the sound system on linux?
in wine g.e runs with alsa driver- other options don't work. so somehow i got to swap out/complement my sound drivers in ubuntu somehow- been trying through synaptic but going blindly. it really hurts cause i like ubuntu and no sound kinda ruins g.e cross platform boast- and if it was your main o.s you would have bum luck playing games made by it. wine version plays buggy.

tried it and works within editor only- exports don't seem to inherit the change. read about the fact there is a change to the newer ubuntu's sound setup and decided to give my 9.10 a whirl- and the sound works! how sad

Yes, its a test to see if sound is working at all. A linux engine export should be doable if there is demand for.

i demand! 9.10 had trouble with software centre- couldn't get wine etc so i went up one to 10.04x and that too did work without the need of alsa exe. it was just the fact that the incursion demo i keep playing never played the music (which i could never find the file it was supposed to be comming from anyway) 10.10 is the badboy- the window would also get messed up in this version. ubuntu is cool and has at least one answer to most windows apps- g.e is part of that and jugding on how crappy game maker games run on wine, i'd feel safer with it too.
